Education and Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor certified by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (license no. 71257), as well as a Certified Life Coach through Baylor University.
I began my career as a therapist and addictions counselor at Tarrant Youth Recovery Campus working with at-risk adolescents while working towards an Associates degree at Tarrant County College. Afterwards, I enrolled at the University of North Texas where I received my Bachelors degree in Rehabilitative Studies followed by a Masters degree in Community Mental Health Counseling. I successfully served individuals who were experiencing compulsive behaviors in substance abuse, eating disorders and sex addiction at Sante' Center for Healing and Cambio Life Recovery Center before joining the team at Mesa Springs Behavioral Health Hospital where I worked with patients struggling with dual diagnosis. Later, I decided to expand my ability to serve others by enrolling at Baylor University to become a Certified Life Coach. I continue to broaden my knowledge in the field of compulsive behaviors by getting additional training in many areas associated with this mental health issue.
My style is one of non-judgmental compassion, respect, and genuineness. I utilize complimentary therapy techniques and approaches drawn from insight-oriented therapy, systems theory and trauma and empowerment models, while incorporating psycho-educational components to provide my clients with a well-rounded therapeutic and coaching experience.
